Tom and Jerry Evaluation

Tom and Jerry is an old cartoon, therefore i went for a older music theme much like the original cartoon is therefore i looked to keep an old school soundtrack behind the film, and use original cartoon sound effects to make it feel in-keeping with the look of the cartoon. I do think my sound effects fit the cartoon well and compliment the movements on the screen. The sound effects i recorded were all the verbal ones which i those to record in chinese off of google translate, because i was trying to keep an original feel to the cartoon I felt like i needed to at least change something. The way i did this was to borrow a Sony sound recording device from the media office and type in the dialog into google translate so it would play out loud the spoken words through the macs speakers. I then used the Sony recorder to record the sounds and imported them into premier pro and put them in my cartoon. For all my other sound effects I went on to Youtube and downloaded a soundtrack of all the sound effects that are used on loony tunes, I took this soundtrack into premier pro and picked it apart for sounds that would match the things going on in my cartoon. I am happy with how my cartoon turned out however the one thing i would change is that i would not have my voices in chinese or recorded off of google translate because i feel this didnt work as well as i planned because the voices were out of sync with the characters, Instead i would record them myself or get someone else to voice my dialog so that they could get it in sync with the cartoons talking.

Preparing to shoot on location

It is important to make a plan before you go out and film because, having a plan will cut the time it takes to film the piece because you know exactly what you are going to film. The report may also be not filmed to the standard that it should be as it has not been though out well enough. If you didnt plan before filming a news report on location you could have disruption from the public or not know what to say when you were on air.
