The Brief
My Video starts with a long shot of the singer at her piano beginning to play the song. This is followed by a close up of the singer singing the song. It then cuts to shots of the singers brother having his hair shaved off at an army base. this is followed by other shots at the base like him being yelled at by his superiors and saluting fro example. After this there is an overhead shot of the singer playing the piano. Then there is a short montage of the brother training at his camp for example running and doing monkey bars. There is a global shot of planet earth then zooming in to Afghanistan the shot zooms in to a helicopter flying across a desert towards an army base. Along shot of the brother walking down a war torn road is next, then the video once again cuts back to the singer showing a close up of her singing into a mic. The next shot is an extreem long shot of a bomb going off showing that the brother has died in combat. the video ends with the singer weeping as she finishes singing the song.

Assignment 2: Task 2
For This piece of music i visualize a simple performance video coupled with a narrative in the music video. I would have the singer sat at a piano playing the song with a plain background in black and white with occasional cutaways of a soldier living life at war. My music video would feature a slight narrative showing a soldier preparing to go to war at a training camp in england and gradually showing his story up until he is flown out to a war zone it will end with him actually going out to fight. All throughout this narrative there will be shots in black and white of the singer performing the song in a plain room at a piano. I think this would fit the music because the song is about her brother going to war and her feeling 'disconnected' from him, therefore the soldier element i think would fit the piece of music also the black and white performance bit would also fit well to add to the sadness of the music video.

Disconnected The Initial Listen
After hearing 'disconnected by Jazz Morley' I thought that the tone of the song was one of desperation, sadness and helplessness. I thought this because the lyrics consistently referred to the singer feeling disconnected from her brother who is at war in Afghanistan. Obviously there is nothing she can do to bring him back where she can see him so the song acts as a message to him telling him how she feels about him being away she mentions feeling as if she is drifting from him and that that makes her feel sad. so all in all this song has a very sad helpless tone to it.
I have put this in Because i believe the song sounds like it could have easily been sung by Adele is it is nothing but vocals and piano just like 'make you feel my love' by Adele. I would put the genre or this some in the category of Soul/Pop music.

Evaluation
I think that our lock stock presentation went well because we picked a good clip to show of the film which had plenty of sound to analyze with in it.
